It is not easy task to make list of all files in folder. Windows does not provides such option in default. If you want make list of all files (like documents, music files, videos etc.) in folder.


Here we can use command line to create list step by step.

Example:

  1. Suppose I have a folder (Name: How to make list of files in folder )on my desktop and I want to make a list all files in excel (here is folder)

2. Here are some files in folder

    3. Copy the file path as below
  4. Open command prompt
  • Windows + R
  • cmd
  • Hit enter

5 . In Command line write (cd space paste file path as below) ans hit ener


6. Write dir>filename.txt as below and hit enter


7. Now you can see one file generate in your folder like this


8. Open filename.txt in notepad and copy of all file names as below


9. Open excel sheet and paste all copied files in excel as below and do further steps (1,2,3) and click next

10 Adjust column as required as below and click next


11.  Here is a final list of all files in folder
